Good meeting points for your first group walk.

You meet your group at the Faro de la Marina, the iconic blue and white lighthouse. This flat, paved path hugs the cliffs of Miraflores, offering sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. You walk a three kilometer stretch to the Larcomar shopping center and back, making a perfect six kilometer loop that takes about an hour. It gets busy during sunset, so a morning walk is much quieter. Afterwards, you grab coffee at Buenavista Cafe right on the boardwalk. To get here, take the Metropolitano bus to the Angamos station and walk west.

You gather your walking group by the central pond near the Municipal Library. This incredibly flat walk takes you through a centuries old olive grove in the heart of San Isidro. You follow a gentle two kilometer loop around the ancient trees, taking roughly forty minutes. It is peaceful during weekday mornings and livelier on weekends. After finishing, you head to the nearby library cafe or Cafe de Lima for a warm drink. You can easily reach the park by taking the corredor azul bus along Arequipa Avenue, getting off at the El Olivar stop.

You start this walk at the Plaza de Armas of Barranco, right next to the municipal library. This route features some gentle slopes as you head down the famous Bajada de Banos toward the ocean. You loop back up through the colorful, mural filled streets, covering about three kilometers in forty five minutes. The area is quietest in the morning and packed on weekend nights. For a post walk brew, stop by Bodega Verde for coffee in a quiet garden. Reach Barranco by taking the Metropolitano bus to the Boulevard station.

You assemble your group in front of the Cathedral at the Plaza Mayor. This flat walk guides you through the historic heart of the city, passing colonial balconies and grand palaces. You follow a three kilometer loop along the pedestrianized Jiron de la Union down to Plaza San Martin and back. It is best to walk during weekday mornings to avoid the heavy afternoon crowds. Afterward, you enjoy a traditional coffee at the historic Cafe Palais Concert. You can get here by taking the Metropolitano bus to the Jiron de la Union station.

You meet your fellow walkers at the Monument to the Pioneers of Aviation inside the park. This massive green space in Jesus Maria offers a completely flat, paved path. You complete a pleasant two kilometer loop around the outer edge of the park, taking about thirty minutes. The park is quietest during early afternoons and busiest on Sunday mornings with local families. After your loop, you can grab a fresh coffee at the nearby Cafe de la Prensa. Reach the park easily by taking the corredor azul bus to the 28 de Julio station.
