I really like the idea. Seems like I'm the first walker in my city, but the concept is exactly what I wanted.

A mobile app that carries city walking routes stop by stop so you can follow them without a guide. Walk With Me adds scheduling, so a route can be turned into an open group walk that other people can join.
The itinerary is the easy part. Plenty of apps can list ten stops and draw a line between them. What they cannot do is fix the thing that actually makes a self-guided tour flat, which is walking a beautiful city alone with headphones in. Walk With Me puts the route and the people in the same place, so you can pick a tour, set a date, and let other walkers nearby join you on it.
Walk With Me is a free walking tour app for iPhone and Android. It carries complete self-guided city routes with every stop mapped and every distance measured, and it lists guided tours from local hosts when you would rather be shown around. The part no other walking tour app does is the last step: any route in the app can be scheduled as an open walk, so the tour stops being a solo activity and becomes something you do with company.
Most walking tour apps hand you an audio track and leave you standing on a corner by yourself. This one schedules the route as a real walk other people can join.
Every tour in the app is built from geocoded stops and live routing data, so the distance and walking time are real numbers rather than someone's guess. You can see the whole route before you commit your afternoon to it, including where it starts, where it ends, and how far apart the stops actually are.
Pick any route, set a date and a meeting point, and it becomes a walk other people can find and join. This is the difference between a walking tour app and an audio guide. You end up on the route with people who showed up for exactly the same reason you did.
Self-guided itineraries are free to read and free to walk, with nothing to book. When you want a local host instead, guided tours are listed in the same app with the full price shown up front and payment handled securely through Stripe.
In an unfamiliar city you can browse the walks already happening on a live map, follow a walking tour route stop by stop, or turn either into a group walk with a travel walking buddy who knows the streets.
An audio walking tour adds GPS-triggered narration to a self-guided route: the same itinerary a walking tour app draws on the map plays as a story in your ears, and on the live map you can browse walks near you to hear it in company.
