Walk a chain of real places near you and collect XP at every one. Follow numbered pins on the map, or solve a riddle to find each hidden spot.

Pick a mode and a length, then walk. Every spot is a real place near you, and it counts the moment you arrive.

Open Waypoint from the games menu. Pins puts every checkpoint on the map and lets you walk them in any order. Riddle hides each spot behind a clue written by Rex, the in-app coach, with no directions, no distances and never the place's name. You solve those one at a time, in order.

Short is 3 spots over about 1.5 km, Medium is 5 spots over about 3 km, and Long is 7 spots over about 5 km. The app picks real places around you, never made-up points, with each leg between 150 and 700 metres. Not on a walk yet? One starts for you, and you choose whether it's private, for friends or public.

The live walk gets a Checkpoints tab showing how many you've found and how far away the nearest pin is. A spot counts by itself when you get close, even with your phone in your pocket, and I'm here helps when the GPS is weak. Stuck on a riddle? Each clue has two hints, and a hint points you the right way for 20 seconds.
Waypoint Hunt pays you for walking to real places, so the app checks that you really did.

I really like the idea. Seems like I'm the first walker in my city, but the concept is exactly what I wanted.

A step counter and walk tracker in the app logs every walk you take, on your own or with the group.
Games and ideas to take on your next walk, with or without the app.

A checkpoint walking game: the app picks a chain of real places near you, and you walk to each one, following pins on the map or solving riddles, to collect XP.
Checkpoint walks are an old idea. Orienteering clubs have run them for a century, and every treasure hunt is a version of one. What they usually need is someone to set the course. Waypoint Hunt does that part for you: tap start and the app finds real spots around you, a short loop or a longer one, wherever you happen to be.
Pins mode is the relaxed version, good for a lunchtime loop or a neighbourhood you want to get to know. Riddle mode is the puzzle version. You read the clue, look around and work out which corner of town it means, which is a lot more fun than following a blue line.
