What to expect on a Prague audio walking tour
Prague's audio walk covers the whole spread of the historic center, from Old Town Square across Charles Bridge and up into Prague Castle, with a climb to Petřín Hill at the end for the best view in the city.

On the other side, Lesser Town Square opens up before the route slips into the quiet, formal Wallenstein Garden, then climbs Nerudova Street, a steep lane of old baroque houses each marked with its own carved emblem. That street leads you right up to the gates of Prague Castle.
The walk finishes with a climb up Petřín Hill, where the viewpoints look back down over the castle, the river, and the red rooftops of the old town. Charles Bridge
This centuries old stone bridge, lined with baroque statues and framed by Gothic towers on both ends, is the single most iconic walk in Prague, connecting the Old Town to the Lesser Town over the Vltava River. Walking across early in the morning, before the street artists and vendors set up, gives you a rare quiet moment with the statues and the river mist. Later in the day it fills with musicians, painters, and photographers, and the energy becomes part of the charm. The view of Prague Castle rising above the rooftops as you cross is simply spectacular.
Old Town Square
The heart of historic Prague is ringed with pastel colored baroque buildings, Gothic church spires, and the famous Astronomical Clock, which draws a small crowd every hour when its figures spring to life. Walking around the square you will find outdoor cafes, horse drawn carriages, and street performers, with the twin spires of Tyn Church rising dramatically overhead. It is a great jumping off point for wandering the narrow medieval lanes that branch off in every direction. Come at night when the buildings are lit up and the square feels almost theatrical.
Prague Castle and Golden Lane
This sprawling castle complex is one of the largest in the world, and walking through its courtyards takes you past St. Vitus Cathedral's soaring spires and the tiny, colorful houses of Golden Lane tucked along the old fortification wall. It is a long, rewarding walk with plenty to see at every turn, from royal gardens to cobblestone courtyards. The changing of the guard adds a bit of ceremony if you time your visit right. Views back over the city from the castle grounds are some of the best in Prague.
Petrin Hill
This green hill on the west bank of the Vltava is where locals go to escape the tourist crowds, with wooded paths, rose gardens, and an orchard that blooms pink and white in spring. Walking up takes some effort, though a funicular offers a shortcut if you want it, and at the top you are rewarded with a mini Eiffel Tower lookout and sweeping views over the city's red rooftops. It is quiet, shaded, and a nice contrast to the busier streets below. Locals come here to jog, picnic, and watch the sunset over the castle.
Kampa Island and the Vltava Riverside
Tucked just below Charles Bridge, this small park island sits between the Vltava River and a narrow canal locals call Prague's Venice, with grassy lawns, modern sculptures, and old watermills lining the water. Walking along the riverside path here feels relaxed and a little offbeat compared to the crowded bridge above. You will pass the John Lennon Wall nearby, covered in colorful graffiti and lyrics, along with cafes with river view terraces. It is a lovely spot to sit by the water and watch the swans drift past.
